Terms and Conditions
Behaviour Assessment
Cases are only seen on Veterinary Referral basis.
Veterinary Surgeons can submit a referral form through the website directly to refer a case for Behaviour Assessment.
Owners can contact me and I will contact their Veterinary Surgeon for the information necessary to book an appointment for the Behaviour Assessment.
A Behaviour Assessment can only be booked once a veterinary referral form (with clinical history) and a history form (filled out by the owner) have been received.
The Behaviour Assessment includes a consultation.
The consultation will typically take place as a home visit.
Under certain circumstances such as specificities of the case, scheduling difficulties or government restrictions (due to COVID-19) remote consultations (via Skype, MS Teams or Zoom) can be offered.
Consultation times vary. Please make all the necessary arrangements (time off work, childcare arrangements, etc.) and allow up to 2-3 hours for the consultation.
If there is more than one behavioural problem, further Behaviour Assessment(s) will probably be required to investigate behavioural matters not related to or discussed at the time of the initial Behaviour Assessment.
Other animals in the household and animals belonging to friends or family will need to be referred separately by their vet.
I aspire to offer a high quality and bespoke service, for that reason advice will only be issued on animals that have been referred by a Veterinary Surgeon and seen in a consultation by myself.
Follow up and assistance
No follow up is included in the cost of the Behaviour Assessment.
If after a Behaviour Assessment, follow up is necessary, this will be charged.
Follow up will be done through Follow up Video call or Follow up Home visit if within 6 months from the date of the Behaviour Assessment.
If more than 6 months after the Behaviour Assessment, additional support is requested for the same behavioural issues, a new Behaviour Assessment will take place.
Follow up Video call
Scheduled at a time convenient for the client and typically last up to 30 minutes.
These can be done via phone or video call (usually via Zoom).
The client will receive a brief written summary of what was discussed during the call, including any advice given.
When clinically indicated, the referring Veterinary Surgeon, will also receive a letter with any information considered relevant and/or advice on action(s) considered required.
Follow up Home visit
Scheduled at a time convenient for the client and typically last up to 90 minutes.
These will take place as a home visit.
The client will receive a brief written summary of what was discussed during the visit, including any advice given.
When clinically indicated, the referring Veterinary Surgeon, will also receive a letter with any information considered relevant and/or advice on action(s) considered required.
Payment
Full payment of fees is required at the time of booking for Behaviour Assessments, Follow up Video calls and Follow up Home visits.

Payment of Behaviour Assessments, Follow up Video calls and Follow up Home visits is regarded as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Cancellations
Appointments for Behaviour Assessments, Follow up Video calls and Follow up Home visits can be cancelled or rescheduled.
If an appointment is cancelled 24 hours or more in advance of the appointment time, appointment fees will be refunded, minus 10% of the fee paid at the time of booking.

If you arrive late or need to leave before the consultation is finished, the consultation may need to be shortened and the Behaviour Assessment or Follow up may be incomplete. I reserve the right to not deliver the rest of the assessment or resume the consultation at a different time. Any fees paid at the time of booking will not be refunded.

Appointment times or dates may need to be altered because of circumstances beyond my control. If this happens I will contact you as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements. The appointment will be rescheduled to a time of your convenience. If it is not possible to reschedule the appointment to a time of your convenience a full refund will be issued.
I will not be liable for any costs you may have incurred in preparation for your appointment.
Disclaimer
All animals are different. Behaviour problems are usually complex and can be hard to eliminate completely.
Having a Behaviour Assessment and following the Management Plan does not guarantee success and that the problem behaviour(s) will disappear (completely).
Aggressive behaviour can cause injury, including fatalities.
Treatment for aggressive behaviour is not a guarantee of success and modifying behaviour does not assure the aggressive behaviour will be successfully controlled.
It is your responsibility to ensure the safety of people and other animals with regards to your cat/dog.
I cannot take responsibility for the behaviour of your cat/dog outside of the consultations with me.
I strongly recommend you have pet insurance including third party liability cover.
Unless asked by me to do it, I do not recommend that you take film footage of your cat/dog whilst it is displaying any behavioural issues.
You should not intentionally trigger any unwanted behaviour from your cat/dog, especially in the case of aggressive behaviour.
I will not be responsible for misinterpretation of my advice.
I reserve the right to decide if safe and/or relevant to do a physical examination of your cat/dog and/or demonstrate any management or training techniques.
I reserve the right to cancel a consultation at any time if I deem it is too dangerous to continue.
I reserve the right to suspend the Service at any time if the advice or instructions are not followed.
